Mill Setup - 2nd Shift


SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for the set-up of moderately complex jobs and operation of CNC equipment: i.e., Swiss Lathes, Chucker Lathes, Vertical Mills, Wire and Sinker EDMs etc. Ensuring that all required processes are completed to produce parts that meet quality and ISO standards. Responsible to assist in the training of personnel as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Set-up moderately complex jobs and operate computerized numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics.  Able to run multiple machines at one time.
  • Review and understand blueprints, process drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and set up requirements.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow and enter command to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media; observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of–tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
  • Responsible to assist in the training of personnel as required.
  • Confers with Supervisor, engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining problems.
  • Complete essential documentation as required.
  • Assure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken to reduce the risk of injury
  • Maintain a clean work area and assure safe operation of all equipment.
  • Must be available on reasonable notice for unscheduled overtime to meet production schedules.
  • Perform and document Operator Preventative Maintenance operations as needed.

EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent. Three or more years CNC machining experience or demonstrated performance.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Complete knowledge of G-Codes.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Knowledge of Cad Cam software such as Surf Cam or Part Maker is a plus.

Customer Service Representative


Immediate opening for a CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE.

Job Description

The Customer Service Representative is the primary point of contact for Instru-med’s customer representatives including Purchasing Agents, Engineers, and Quality Assurance personnel.  Key functions include, daily communication with customer representatives by phone / email / video conferencing, processing requests for quote, performing contract review and entering purchase orders, tracking the status of orders and sending regular updates to the customer, and shipping orders to customers once manufacturing is complete.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

– Communicate with both internal and external parties related to new and in-process orders

– Work closely with the Vice President of Operations to ensure customer expectations are being met

– Initiate and follow-up on all customer requests for quote

– Perform contract review and enter customer purchase orders

– Receive and process any customer complaints / feedback and issue RMA’s as appropriate

– Provide regular reporting to customers in reference to the status of in-process orders

– Package orders and process shipping labels once manufacturing is complete

 

Experience or Training Preferred

– 5 years of experience in Medical Device or other highly regulated field

– Experience with Microsoft products and spreadsheet applications

– Working knowledge of ERP software

– Strong writing skills

– Ability to process data and generate feedback to customers

– Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices

– Ability to communicate effectively with customers and Instru-med team members

Process Engineer


Maintain all manufacturing process planning documentation which typically consists of item masters, bills of material, routers, and machine and labor standards.

Initiate improvements in current manufacturing methods and processes to improve part quality, schedule performance and reduce manufacturing cost.

Provide technical support to purchasing personnel and suppliers by interpreting product drawings and initiating the development of manufacturing drawings and resolving technical production problems.

Resolve technical production problems in machining, metal finishing and assembly operations.

Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, production floor layout, yields, and quality of product.

Participate in investigation/corrective action efforts during production interruption circumstances.

Ensure all activities are in compliance with Quality System requirements.

Create conceptual designs for tools, fixtures, and gages.

Apply a working knowledge of manufacturing, QA procedures and regulatory requirements.

Utilize their experience with measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, and digital readouts.
